- Motion text
Congress celebrates the excellent work done by the Equality Unit in making branch activists aware of members' rights and entitlements when dealing with equality issues. Nevertheless, there remain cases where members experience difficulty in progressing equality-related casework within branches and local associations. We realise that this is not a universal issue, but it must be acknowledged that the problem exists.
Congress therefore calls upon decision-making bodies within UCU to ensure that the equality structure of UCU retains sufficient expertise in all four equality strands to facilitate the provision of all necessary support to both lay officers and regional officials when dealing with cases involving discrimination on grounds of equality.
