- Motion text
This Congress is alarmed at the reduction in levels of adult education provision in all sectors resulting from reductions in funding and full cost charges.
In many areas of the country evening class FE provision has been reduced to very little as either colleges have charged full fees or have seen 16-19 provision as the priority.
Access Courses are becoming available only for those who can afford them
FE as a second chance for adults, especially at level three, is in serious decline
Labour's mantra of 'education, education, education' needs to apply to the whole community, including adults, and also needs to be properly funded in both further and higher education.
