Conference welcomes UCUHE/1 and endorses the programme of action set out therein. In particular Conference instructs HEC;
1) to ensure that the pay claim for August 2009 includes the five criteria noted in paragraphs (a), (b), (c) (d) and (e);
2) to remit to the working group and the elected negotiators the further development of the claim;
3) to invite the PTAAS unions to discuss with UCU a pay strategy for 2009, such talks to start this summer;
4) to provide for a special pay HESC in the autumn, the timing to be agreed by HEC in June.
