Congress deplores the threatened fast-track deportation of Hicham Yezza to Algeria. Hicham Yezza and Rizwaan Sabir, a staff member and student at Nottingham University, were detained under anti-terrorism laws for six days in May before being released without charge. On his release, Hicham was re-arrested and transferred to an immigration detention centre. Hicham has lived in Britain for 13 years. The Home Office are attempting to deport him the next week, leaving lawyers little time to prepare his case and preventing a proper hearing of Hicham's case.
Congress:
Demands a stay of deportation and immediate release from detention for Hicham
Asks the University of Nottingham to contact the Home Office supporting Hicham's case for a proper hearing
