Congress notes that there is the opportunity for significant recruitment in both of the sectors represented by the UCU but that the realisation of that potential depends on having an effective organisation whose structure and processes are equal to the task.
Congress endorses the proposal from the NEC for a new structure for the UCU as detailed in the Restructuring Document (UCU/103).
Congress instructs the NEC to monitor the implementation proposals, top make a continual assessment of their initial effectiveness in delivering effective organisation for the priorities identified by the HEC, the FEC and the NOP, and to bring a report on progress to Congress 2009.
