This conference rejects the 1.5 % offer from the AOC for 2009/10 & urges the FEC to conduct a ballot of members for a programme of national strike action in order to secure an improved offer from the employers. Moreover this conference sees the pay campaign as an issue for the whole public sector; we need a national campaign across unions. Our focus, as part of this campaign, must be to highlight the issues impacting on our members namely workload and deteriorating working conditions. We will continue the fight to defend jobs and community education.
