Conference questions why the FEC have not actioned our motion on Principal’s Pay from the November 2008 Pay Conference in which we called on the FEC to lead a campaign that included :
* a letter to all college governors demanding that College Principal’s and SMT’s receive the same cost of living pay rise as all other staff at these colleges
* calling on all UCU branches to lobby Governor’s meetings on this issue and to participate in a series of lunchtime protests
* UCU national negotiators to meet with Governor’s representatives on the AOC to call for an end to this abuse of the public purse
* an online petition on the UCU website to highlight the strength of feeling on this issue to the media
If this motion is passed we call on the FEC to now launch this campaign in conjunction with our pay claim.
